This book documents architectural proportions, particularly those that provoke thought or, at the very least, evoke a sense of experience. Our motivation stemmed from an encounter with a space—when walking into a building, we noticed the various architectural elements, which made the space feel distinct from the typical apartment building and sparked the desire to translate such architectural experiences, particularly when they are at risk of disappearing.
Although preventing the demolition of this particular building was not possible, the memory of its spatial qualities, rather than just its aesthetics are put together in this compilation. Modern developments focus on empty grandeur, while disregarding the tactile, meaningful experience that architecture can offer. This compilation seeks to capture this contrast and serves as a reflection on the transformation our city is undergoing.
